This could be a problem with speech settings.

I've posted in the MSFT forums but I know that response there can be spotty.Ĭan anyone suggest what to do next? I've got another couple of weeks where (if I can get the Settings app to run, which it won't either at the moment) where I can still roll back to Windows 7. I tried the process again, and let it run overnight as well, and it was still hung in the morning. I tried it again, (after another dism failure and sfc /scannow success) and it stopped after the initializing phase and just hung there. I think I let it run overnight (at least 10 hours) and it was the same way in the morning. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking and didn't capture the output, but the first time I ran it the process got past initializing, then the progress "bar" went about 1/3 of the way across the screen and stopped and hung. Sfc /scannow finishes and reports no errors.Įven though the dism piece failed, I ran the powershell scripta couple of times. I've tried this multiple times over a couple of days with the same exact result. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log Wait a few minutes and try running the command again. The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.Īn error occurred closing a servicing component in the image.

Trying to run the dism command does this: C:\WINDOWS\system32> dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealthĭeployment Image Servicing and Management tool I've tried what I've found here as well as on the MSFT community forums and I'm not having any real success.

This is mostly directed to /u/jenmsft but if anyone can help please chime in.
